stanford-tennessee

so i went to the stanford-tennessee game today (with the zebras - so much fun!)...on the way there, i was a few blocks away from maples and i stopped at a stop sign. there was a pedestrian there waiting to cross the street, so i waved her on. she started to go across and then stopped like she was going to go back to the sidewalk, then started walking toward my car. i rolled down my window and she said, "well, my friend is supposed to pick me up and we're going to go to a korean restaurant past page mill road [about 5-10 minutes south of campus], but i don't see her...maybe you can drive me there?" i was like, "uh, i have a basketball game to go to, but i can drive you as far as maples" which was literally about a 1/4 mile from where we were. after thinking about it for awhile, she said, "no, that's o.k., thanks" and went back to the sidewalk.

i like korean bbq as much as the next person (mmm, kalbi...), but do i look like a taxi service for random korean students??? freaking weird stanford people!!!

so anyway, back to the stanford game...it was a pretty good game up until the last 5 minutes or so. stanford actually took the lead with about 8 minutes left in the 2nd half, but they made way too many turnovers to keep up with tennessee. but they gave a much better showing than anyone really expected.

5. cissy pierce making a couple key baskets in the 1st half...that dude can play

1. candice wiggins at point
2. clare bodensteiner only getting about 2 minutes of pt in the 1st half
3. brooke smith with about a bajillion missed layups/turnovers and getting schooled by candace parker in the post...poor brooke - the worst game she's played for stanford, including the michigan state game in the tournament last year!
4. jillian harmon's shooting - 2 for 5, but i swear the 3 misses were all airballs
